Our longest-standing practice area. Since 2013 we have produced career and earnings reports for Road Accident Fund, personal injury and third-party matters – individualised, evidence-based, and formatted to drop straight into your actuary's model.
Two Report Types
The same methodology, applied according to who suffered the loss.
Loss of Income
Where a claimant has been injured, we assess the career and earnings path they were realistically on before the accident, and the path now available to them given the limitations set out by the relevant medical experts.
- Pre-accident career and earnings trajectory, benchmarked against comparator progression data
- Post-accident limitations and residual capacity, as established by the medical experts
- The resulting impact on future earning potential, with contingencies addressed transparently
Loss of Support
Where a breadwinner has died, we assess the loss of support suffered by the dependants – considering not only the deceased's likely career progression, but also the prospective career development of the surviving spouse where applicable, and the dependency profile of the affected household.
- The deceased's likely career and earnings progression
- Expected earnings over time for the deceased and, where applicable, the plaintiff
- The dependency profile and support needs of the household
Beyond the RAF
The same methodology applies wherever a delictual claim turns on lost earning capacity: medical negligence, general personal injury and public liability, wrongful arrest and malicious prosecution, and occupational injury and disease matters.
If your matter involves establishing what a career would have been worth, we can assist.
